Hi I'm Jas! I'm a recent graphic design graduate currently living in Hampshire. I've always been a creative mind and have often look back on my own history in the arts and the impact my tutors and teachers have had on me have which has shaped me into the artist I am today. I have always had a passion for dance and have found ways to use physical performance into my uni work.
I know I will always work in a creative space, and love discussing with groups ways to work around problems as well as bringing new ideas to the table. I've never thought of myself as a good drawer however this has meant that I have found other ways to communicate ideas through design.
I would like to work in education and have an impact on young people encouraging them to find new ways of expressing themselves. I would call myself a multi-media artist as I have been able to show work not only on screen in the forms of gifs and video editing but also bringing my work into physical designs such as mega graphics, zines and insulation pieces. With a focus of working with people I mainly use workshops to gather content therefore creating very personal work that expresses multiple peoples ideas.
One of my areas of work that I always look to grow is my collaboration work. Throughout my time at uni I have taken many different roles within different collaboration porojects I have been a part of. I was a part of my third year publication team where I took on the role of fundraising as well as making design decisions. I have also worked with fellow students to create a folk song about our university course. I helped in creating the song lyrics as well as editing the music video that we created.
During a semester at university, I undertook a moving image module. Throughout this module, I gain knowledge of how to use software such as Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe After Effects as well as using more analogue methods such stop motion and riso animation. After this module I have continued to explore on screen methods and formats creating a real passion for video editing.
Throughout this project, I looked into connections. Not only why people make connections but also how people make connections. Some of the smaller projects that were within this project included holding on like you don't want to let go, reconnecting with old memories, a pledge and documenting activities that lead to connections.

As a result of my work I wanted people to feel a sense of nostalgia and think of the connections that they make in their own life.

Right to dry was a unconventional publication that brought awareness to the issues of most renters not having a place to dry their clothes outside. The publication was formed of people's stories, images of odd places people have dried their cloths, and interviews with a renter and a news article. The publication was made to be hung on a washing line which gives an interactive element and each time it is displayed it will be different.
